Havens of History
Our area boasts more than a dozen Bed & Breakfasts/Inns plus numerous cabins and cottages - comparable to cities much larger than our small towns. That's because this area provided a cool summertime retreat from the heat and humidity of the low country. As the passenger trains brought summertime residents, hotels and boarding houses popped up all around this resort area. Alas, many are gone, but more than a dozen historic properties are still eager to offer you rest and rejuvenation. Many new places have been added - B&Bs, homes, cottages and rustic cabins. All told, there are over 50 places to spend the night in our area. The hard part is choosing which one!
