A Tryon Storybook Cottage; unique, eclectic, comfortable and convenient!

Originally known as Nandina Cottage for the red-berried bushes growing throughout the grounds, this pet friendly, part log cabin (circa 1939) was constructed in the Hunt Box style. These historic, storybook cabins were built by homeowners looking to escape harsh northern winters. They came in pursuit of equestrian activities such as fox hunting, leisurely trail riding, and showing their horses at nearby historic Harmon Field. This quaint, in-town home is located in a quiet, safe, convenient neighborhood which prides itself as being the south’s “Friendliest Small Town.”

From the well-equipped cottage, it’s a short stroll to the main Trade Street and village center where you will find restaurants, pubs, shops, a library, book stores, a 1938 retro-renovated movie theatre, Tryon Fine Art Center, art galleries, and concerts in the parks. Other nearby amenities include numerous churches, trout fishing, and Tryon Country Club––an enjoyable 1916 Donald Ross nine-hole golf course available to play for sponsored guests.

Located at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Tryon area is known as the Thermal Belt, a phenomenon which produces prolonged spring and fall weather, encouraging year round outdoor activities. The yard is lush with flowers, shade trees, and shrubbery, and the main-floor master bedroom suite opens onto a sunken garden for private enjoyment. Once renowned for its vineyards and grapes, this agricultural pursuit is making a comeback with numerous wineries open for tastings and tours. A Tryon Storybook Cottage is a short drive to world renowned Tryon International Equestrian Resort and not far from famed Biltmore House and the popular Sierra Nevada Brewery. There is easy access to Charlotte, Greenville-Spartanburg, and Asheville Airports. Located near interstates I-26 and I-85, the cottage is a short drive to numerous southern cities.

Come relax in the laid-back village of Tryon and enjoy its famed southern hospitality. Let A Tryon Storybook Cottage be your home away from home. Three night minimum, longer term rental available.

You are less than an hour from America’s favorite scenic byway, The Blue Ridge Parkway, motorcycle touring, biking, hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, zip lining, Segway tour…just about any outdoor activity! Or, take a day-trip to downtown Asheville to enjoy the first-rate restaurants, shopping, galleries, spas, and entertainment.
