Saluda Whistle Stop Pizza & Wings in down town Historic Saluda at the old 1920’s Esso Gas Station building, this place has had many names and uses over the years. It is known by many locals as “The Whistle Stop” as this location has served the community as the Whistle Stop during it’s history as well (right across from the Post Office & Bank).
The shop is centrally located on Main street right on the Rail Road Tracks. While our inside seating is limited, the outside seating is where I am sure most will want to sit. The deck is covered and is nestled right between the Railroad tracks and 176, so you can sit back and think about how people lived their lives here over 100 years ago… while you enjoy Brick oven style Pizza. Our opening menu will be somewhat limited but will have various flavors of Chicken wings not battered but fried in Sunflower oil and topped with an assortment of flavors. Naturally with Spring in the air and Summer around the corner we will also have a nice mixed salad as well. Can’t post much else on the menu at this point… don’t want to spoil all the surprises .

Our plan is to have Craft Beer on Tap and Bottles as well as a nice Cider too. While we will have dine in, we will also have available call in/carry out. And…… yes the grapevine has it right… we will also be able to deliver, sorry can’t get too far from the shop and we know how long some of our windy Mountain roads are, they go on for ever. I know at this point Green River is too far and anything past Cabin Fever on the other side of Saluda will be out of reach for delivery.
Since we are a Mom & Pop Pizza shop we are open to suggestions and look forward to serving so many wonderful supportive Saluda residents, out of town visitors, and the new friends we have gotten to know while operating Saluda Gem Mine. PS, We still have the Gem Mine, it’s just in the back yard of the Whistle Stop in Saluda’s very own Historic 1920’s Caboose.
