It’s that time of the year when the Saluda Historic Depot Theatre Troupe is preparing for their annual play November 30, 2019.

   This year the YAK performers will bring you “Abenezer Scrooge” A Ghostly Mountain Christmas Tale adapted by Corinne Gerwe from “A Christmas Carol.” The play will premiere on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 7pm at the Party Place in Saluda.

   The kids have been rehearsing this summer and are excited about performing for Saluda citizens in November. Through the generosity of our first Patron of the Arts, Hilda Pace, the Mountain Page Community Center (closed for several years and located on her land) has been donated to SHDTT for perpetual use for the YAK players. Work to remodel the building began this summer by volunteers and from donations from Saluda citizens and local businesses.

   We are excited to bring an opportunity to you again this year to be recognized for your support by being an individual contributor or business sponsor. Business sponsors will be recognized with your logo on this year’s Playbill and be included in other media promotions that are in the planning stages.

   There were over 300 people at last year’s musical and they filled the Party Place with cheers and delight to see Saluda’s first children’s theatre group (YAK) performing in our town.

Net proceeds of the play will go toward the increased costs of producing the play, marketing collateral and promotions, and towards expenses to complete the remodeling and improvements of the Mountain Page Community Playhouse.
