You are invited to join us for the opening reception of the eighth annual art show presented by Don Blackwell’s studio art class, Friday, May 3 from 6-8 pm at Isothermal Community College’s auditorium in Columbus, NC. All art will remain on display in the auditorium from May 6-May 31 during ICC’s regular hours, 9am-4pm, M-F. Please join us to meet the artists on the evening of May 3.

Don Blackwell, an artist and art instructor in great demand, has taught art since 1989 and has been an instructor for more than a decade at Isothermal Community College in the Creative and Visual Arts department. He was born and raised in Hendersonville. Don returned to Hendersonville in 2004 after having served in the Air Force and living for 26 years in Alaska where he gained a love and appreciation for nature, a love that can be seen in his art and woodcarvings. Today, his art and his woodcarvings can be found in many local galleries and in many homes in the area and beyond.

Isothermal Community College is located at 1255 West Mills Street, Columbus, NC off I-26 on the highway to Tryon. In addition to instruction in Visual Arts, ICC has classes in continuing education which include classes in Allied Health, Computers, Emergency Services, Equine Studies, Healthy Living and many others. We appreciate that Isothermal has sponsored and hosted this art show for the last 7 years and continues this sponsorship this year.
