Eco Printing Workshop
March 31 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Intro to Eco Printing Workshop with Patricia Spangler
Eco printing is a form of direct contact printing using leaves, plants and flowers to create color, design and shape. Steam and/or boiling water facilitates this process. In this introductory class students will learn fabric prep, leaf selection, and conduct a series of experiments based on the interaction of leaf tannin with various mordants and modifiers. Students will leave with silk samples of each experiment as well as with an eco printed 14″ x 72″ silk scarf.
Students are asked to bring rubber gloves, an apron, notebook and pen, paper towels, leaves if desired, and plastic bowls for carrying wet fabric.
Materials fee of $25 is payable to the instructor at the time of the workshop.♦
