Veterans Day Parade

November 11, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

The town of Columbus in Polk County was selected by the Veterans Day National Committee of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a “Regional Site for the Celebration of Veterans Day 2021”. This is a very prestigious award. The Patriots Salute to Veterans Association is both honored and proud to be able to bring this recognition to our community in support of the over 2400 veterans living in Polk County and the surrounding area.

The Polk County Veterans Association (American Legion Post 250, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9116 and their Auxiliary Units) will be hosting the Veterans Day Parade on Thursday morning, November 11, 2021, the National Holiday.

The parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. in Columbus, NC and continue through downtown Columbus to the Veterans Park, where we’ll conduct our Veterans Day Ceremony beginning immediately after the parade.

This year, the Parade staging area has changed. The Parade Line up will now be on Park Street (starting beside Bubbles Car Wash) with off-loading around the Gibson Park area. Once again, the parade starting time is 10:00 a.m., with line up beginning at 9:00 a.m. The Parade route will take a left onto E. Mills Street (bleachers in front of Stearns Park area for the public to view the Parade). The Parade will then turn left onto Courthouse Square (turning beside the World War 1 Doughboy statue), then turn left onto Ward Street, ending at the Veterans Park. Again, as in past years, a Veterans Day Memorial Service will be held in the Veterans Park after the Parade.

Please plan to attend the Parade and support our local Veterans! God bless our veterans, and God bless America!
