Petrie Winds is a woodwind quintet composed of faculty members from Converse University’s Petrie School of Music. The ensemble performs annually on the Faculty Recital series at Converse and throughout the Southeast. Their repertoire includes classical and contemporary music for woodwinds.
The ensemble members are flutist Chris Vaneman, oboist Kelly Vaneman, clarinetist Karen Hill, bassoonist Frank Watson, and Ericka Tyner who plays horn. The members of the quintet hold degrees from the Yale School of Music, the Eastman School of Music, Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, and Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music. The musicians are also members of the Spartanburg Philharmonic, the Hendersonville Symphony, and the Asheville Symphony Orchestra. Register here!
