Laughter Pond, accessed through the Polk County Recreation Complex at Polk County Middle School, is stocked with catfish. Laughter Pond is a county owned pond open to public fishing. Laughter Pond generally receives several thousand channel catfish each year. Each stocking event takes place the first week of every month between May and October, with about 700 fish each time. The target size for those fish is 8-12 inches.
There is an automatic feeder at the pond that currently runs twice per day, at 9am and 7pm.
A fishing license is required to fish at the pond. They can be purchased at McGuinn's in Sunny View, Tim Edwards Landscaping in Mill Spring, Pace General Store in Saluda, Silver Creek Campground, and Foothills Gun Gallery in Columbus.
