Jim has a studio on Main St. in downtown Saluda,above the Saluda Grade Cafe, which is open by appointment or by chance. He also gives workshops through out the year both in his studio and in plein air (outside). Jim paints in oils, and is known for the color balance and his bold and spontaneous brushwork.
Jim has won numerous national awards, including the Award of Distinction in the 2015 AIS National Exhibition. He has painted in and won awards in Plein Air Festivals in Easton, Maryland, Door County, Wisconsin, Richmond,Virginia, and Cashiers, NC. He has most recently been accepted to 2018 OPA Salon Exhibition, hosted this year by Crooked Creek Arts Center, in Traverse City, Michigan, June 22-Sept 1.
Jim’s paintings can be found in galleries in Raleigh,NC, Flat Rock, NC, Augusta Ga. and Macon Ga. He also sells paintings in his studio/gallery.
