There is plenty to do at the lake. Lake Adger has over 14 miles of pristine shoreline and covers over 438 acres. The natural vegetation along the shore provides a home to many species of wildlife and fish like largemouth and smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, white bass, white crappie, bluegill, and bream. The lake is stocked with Muskies as part of the North Carolina Wildlife Resources fish-stocking program.
Stroll down the hill to the private dock and enjoy the sun glistening on the water. You can fish, swim, paddle board, kayak, and canoe from here. There is also a public landing where you can launch if you have your own boat. (Restrictions are 60HP max for small fishing boats and 80HP max for pontoons. No jet skis or waterskiing are allowed.)
Outside you will find a spacious top deck with seating and outdoor dining areas. Equipped with a gas grill for your culinary delight, you can end your day with a dinner of freshly caught trout and a glass of wine from one of the local wineries. You’ll find BBQ tools and skewers conveniently located underneath the grill. There is seating on the front deck as well, and the large, flat front yard is a perfect place for the kids to play.
You can use the outside stairs to access the lower covered patio where you can enjoy a 5-person hot tub under twinkle lights. No need to worry about towels – we provide them for you. (A gate blocks the top of the stairs so you can feel safe about having your children outside with you.) Relax around the fire pit at the end of the day and toast marshmallows using our reusable skewers.

Other things to note
Our home is located midway between Asheville, NC and Greenville, SC, and is just a short drive from both and all the outdoor activities, attractions, shopping, and dining the area has to offer, including the nearby quaint communities of Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, Tryon, Saluda, Black Mountain, and Hendersonville, and the Pisgah National Forest and Blue Ridge Parkway.
Lake Adger uniquely follows the course of the scenic Green River. Ten miles south of Lake Lure and the Hickory Nut Gorge, the Green River flows from just south of Hendersonville, creating Lake Adger in Polk County, and eventually joining the Broad River. Higher up the Blue Ridge escarpment, the Green River Gorge is famous for Class I kayaking, and the white water is considered the best in the East due to the water released daily from a high mountain lake into the river. Lower down the gorge, the river becomes calmer making it popular in summer for tubing. Further along, the Green River becomes a shallow, tranquil stream, flowing along the base of 4,000-foot mountains as it enters Lake Adger.
