You are also welcome to bring your boat (contact us for size limitations, regulations, etc.); the Lake Adger, public access site, is a half-mile from the home. The lake is 438 acres with 14 miles of pristine shoreline and offers great fishing. If you want to put in a Lake Lure, the access site is about a half-mile from home (Lake Lure requires a visitor permit).
Whether you want to get away for a relaxing vacation or a long weekend, this beautiful home offers all the comforts you would expect. On the main floor is a functional kitchen complete with a dishwasher, refrigerator, range, microwave, and coffee maker. The main floor also offers a stone fireplace in the living room for cool or romantic evenings, a washer/dryer in the half bath, and a master suite with a queen bed plus a full bath with double vanity and jetted bathtub.

It is also just 15 minutes from the quaint Village of Tryon, located on the first rise of the Blue Ridge Mountains. In addition to the Tyron International Equestrian Center, it offers wineries, golf, unique shops. On a historical note, it is the birthplace of a legendary Jazz singer, pianist, songwriter Nina Simone. A statue and plaza in town honor her memory.
There are also several excellent golf courses nearby, including Apple Valley Golf Course, Bald Mountain Golf Course, and Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort, which Golf Digest rated as one of the top 50 golf destinations in the US.
If you enjoy scenic drives, head out of Lake Lure on Alt 74 (curvy and scenic Memorial Highway) through Chimney Rock Village, Bat Cave, Gerton, Fairview, toward Asheville to pick up what many consider the most beautiful length of road in this country, the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you have not traveled this stretch of road, it is something to add to your bucket list.
This home is located just 15 minutes from Bat Cave; 35 minutes from Hendersonville; 50 minutes from Asheville; and about 2 hours from Charlotte, North Carolina. Also nearby are Pisgah National Forest (less than 1 hour from Lake Lure), which has over 500,000 acres of protected forest, and DuPont State Recreational Forest (1.25 hours from Lake Lure) with over 10,000 acres. These forests feature hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, horse trails, exquisite waterfalls, and beautiful mountaintop views. If you and/or your children are fans of The Hunger Games book and movie, a scene with Katniss and Gale was shot at the Pisgah National Forest. A few small but significant scenes were also filmed at the DuPont State Recreational Forest.
