The Tryon Cemetery is the final resting place of some of Tryon’s earliest residents. It is located off Markham Road in the Eastside Community. The cemetery is a well-maintained part of our history dating back to the early 1700s. Reference to those buried there can be found in the Polk County Cemetery Census. Copies are available at the Polk County Historical Association and at the First Peak Visitor Center, both in Columbus, NC.
