A Taste of Tunisia at the Historic Good Shepherd Episcopal Church

“Come enjoy “A Taste of Tunisia” at Historic Good Shepherd Episcopal Church” Saturday, November 1 at noon. This culinary and cultural event combines food from the country that gave birth to several of the church’s saints. Hear about some highlights from Tunisia’s rich history, and hear Purcell’s aria “Dido’s Lament” performed by mezzo soprano Sher Harris, as well as three spirituals about saints Monica, Augustine and Cyprian. Peter Kutt, formerly of the Asheville Symphony, will accompany her, and will also play a Bill Boyd arrangement of Dizzy Gillespie’s “À Night in Tunisia.” After the program, enjoy a luncheon featuring foods from North Africa.
