A Special Evening with Bernie Harberts & Polly — Benefiting REIN Rescue!
Join us for a one-of-a-kind fundraiser for REIN Rescue featuring adventurer, author, and filmmaker Bernie Harberts, creator of The Lost Sea Expedition: A Man, A Mule, America.
Bernie Harberts — Long Rider, ex-steeplechase jockey, author — traveled solo from Canada to Mexico with his mule Polly and their tiny yellow wagon exploring a vanished sea that once covered the Great Plains.
They traveled 2,500 miles in 395 days and discovered much more than a lost sea: tumbleweed storms, prairie fever and the magic of doors opening to a knock. Bernie filmed the voyage from his solar-powed wagon and that footage became the Lost Sea Expedition (premiered Rocky Mountain PBS / Winnie Award).
Meet Bernie in person—and meet Polly, the mule who pulled his little wagon on the expedition! Squeeze into the Lost Sea wagon (it’s 21-square feet inside). Pat Polly. Ask Bernie questions. Then settle in with us as we watch The Lost Sea Expedition together, with Bernie there to share the experience.
Then stay and watch the 90-minute Lost Sea Expedition movie.
All proceeds from event benefit REIN Rescue.
We’ll also have a catered meal available for $18 per person, so come hungry and enjoy dinner with us before settling in for the evening. Meal tickets must be purchased separately in advance by September 25.
It’s a wonderful chance to enjoy a great story, meet a remarkable traveler (and his equally remarkable mule!), and support the important work of REIN Rescue.
Bring your friends and family and make an evening of it!
