Birth of a Nation Program at the House of Flags Museum

Free. Saturday, Jan 24 and Jan 31, 1-4pm (the program is one hour long and repeats every hour on both days), “Birth of a Nation – Flags of North and South Carolina in the Revolutionary War Era”, House of Flags Museum, Columbus

In this 1 hour presentation learn how flags communicate who we were, our goals and what we believed in. The historical stories these flags can tell describe the journey of our nation’s freedom from British Rule. In this one-hour program visitors will see and hear about:

• Continental Colors – The First Flag of the Continental Army
• Creation of the North Carolina Regiments and Their Flags
• Creation of the South Carolina Regiments and Their Flags
• The North Carolina “Hornet’s Nest” Flag of 1781
