Don’t let your Cycle North Carolina Mountain Ride experience stop at the bicycle!  The Historic Village of Tryon is surrounded with a variety of quaint towns, cultural activities, culinary attractions and outdoor adventures that will provide you with dozens of opportunities for off the bike day trips.  Downtown Saluda and Tryon both have a great collection of art galleries, gift shops, antiques and old-fashioned general stores.  Gallery walks dubbed “Gallery Trots” here are a nod to the rich equestrian history.  Unwind at the areas picturesque vineyards in the Tryon Foothills Wine Country, which features beautiful vineyards and five wineries.  Head into the village to The Tryon Bottle, which features an wide variety of craft brews and wines to satisfy your taste buds.  Grab a beverage to-go and stroll the many shops that line the streets of Tryon.  If its local cuisine you are looking for, then you’re in the right place.  From local southern cooking to casual fine dining to pub fare, this area has it all.

Outdoor adventures await your arrival!  Experience an exhilarating world class run in a kayak or just relax and unwind after a long day of riding as you go tubing on the cool mountain waters of the Green River.  Head to The Gorge if you are looking for a thrilling zip line canopy adventure.  At The Gorge, you’ll experience America’s steepest, fastest zip line canopy tour featuring 1.25 miles of zip lines that span from tree top to tree top and overlooks 18,000 acres of protected Green River Gamelands.  If you like thrills, this is your sweet spot!   Looking for something more peaceful, go for a hike and explore the beautiful Pearson Waterfalls, a 90 foot waterfall, or visit Shunkawauken Falls, a 150 foot waterfall that you can see from your car.  Both waterfalls are less than a ten minute drive from our campsite at Harmon Field.
