
Dunwyck House Historic Home Tour
Tour the historic Dunwyck House on Saturday, May 31, at 11am or 1:30pm or on Sunday, June 1 at 1:30pm or 4pm.
Tickets are $50 and are available online at https://www.polknchistory.org/, at First Peak Visitor Center, 20 E. Mills St., Columbus, NC, or by calling Susan Speight at 803-429-6242.
Ticket includes free onsite parking, guided house and history tour, light refreshments, and printed house information. Tour benefits the Polk County Historical Society.
Dunwyck House, a magnificent Tudor revival mansion, was designed in 1926 by Devereux Van Akin, one of America’s first notable female architects. Distinguished guests such as F. Scott Fitzgerald, George Gershwin, First Lady Grace G. Coolidge, and General George C. Marshall have visited the home. The home features a 6,000 square foot expanse, 21 rooms, soaring cathedral ceilings, and breathtaking views.
