Historical African American Site Tours

Thursday, December 5, 1pm and Saturday, December 7, 10am will be the first ever tour dedicated to exploring significant historical African American sites throughout Polk County. This hour long guided tour will provide participants with an enriching opportunity to visit key landmarks that celebrate the enduring contributions of African Americans to the history and culture of Polk County. Guests will be transported by van during this tour.

The tour will begin and conclude at the Pea Ridge Partnership, 31 Amos Miller Lane, Rutherfordton, NC, situated on Pea Ridge Road. On site parking is available with additional parking options at Zion Grove Church, located directly across the street.
