Free. Learn to Grow Gourmet Mushrooms on Monday, Nov 25, 5-6pm, at Columbus Library
In this informative, hands on workshop, mycologist and mushroom enthusiast Lizza Bixby will unveil the mysteries of growing mushrooms at home. Lizza will discuss two growing methods – one for recycling kitchen waste like used coffee grounds to grow mushrooms like Oysters indoors, and another for growing mushrooms like Shiitake in fresh hardwood logs. Come ready to get dirty; you’ll be participating in the demonstration. The first 40 participants to arrive will take home a mini mushroom fruiting cup.
