Fireworks Fundraiser at Orchard Lake Campground

Enjoy fireworks at Orchard Lake Campground on Friday, July 5, at dusk (around 9pm). The celebration is a fundraiser for the Saluda Volunteer Fire Department and all visitors and guests are encouraged to make a donation. Visitors are welcome to arrive before 7pm and register for day passes at the campground office. Day passes are $8/person and allow access to use all campground activities including: boating, fishing, swimming, zip-line, soccer, volleyball, shuffleboard, badminton, basketball, skate ramps, horseshoes, pool, and more.Visitors arriving after 7pm are not required to pay for a day pass. Tryon Midnight

Countdown to Midnight in Downtown Tryon!  December 31, 7-10:30pm. The ball drops from the clock tower at “Tryon Midnight” which is 10pm. As the clock ticks toward the stroke of midnight, historic Tryon comes alive with anticipation. Families gather, their faces illuminated by the warm glow of streetlights and the twinkle of stars. Laughter and chatter fill the air, creating a sense of togetherness that transcends time. As the seconds dwindle, eyes turn upward, and hearts beat in unison. 10… 9… 8… And then, as the final seconds tick away, the crowd chants in unison: “Happy New Year!” In Tryon, the past and present converge, and hope for the future hangs in the crisp night air. Fabulous 4th of July Bike Tour at Harmon Field

The Tryon Rotary Club is sponsoring a bike ride on July 4th starting from Harmon Field, 373 Harmon Field Rd., Tryon, NC. Preregistration is required. Short loop is $40 and Long loop is $55. Preregister at: https://www.bikesignup.com/Race/NC/Tryon/Fabulous4thofJulyBikeTour Long Loop – 65 Miles of rolling hills going through the iconic small towns of Tryon, NC, and Landrum, SC. On this ride, you climb the Greenville watershed and finish with a descent of the Saluda Grade (4 miles of flying) and a flat all-out sprint to the finish. Short Loop – 33 Miles – This ride was added after the original loop to allow riders of all abilities to enjoy a challenging course without the distance and climbing. There is still a short “challenge” hill on this course, but otherwise, it is a very friendly course for all abilities. Riders will be treated to 4 fully stocked aid stations along the course with friendly volunteers, great course markings, as well as mechanical and SAG support. We will have a meal afterward as well. Saturday, March 30, 10:45am at Tryon Seventh-Day Adventist Church Enjoy a special selection from Handel’s Messiah, “The Trumpet Shall Sound.” Tryon Seventh-Day Adventist Church is inviting the community to attend the 10:45 a.m. worship service on Saturday, March 30. The special music will be a selection from Handel’s Messiah, “The Trumpet Shall Sound.” The bass soloist Richard Cagle majored in music with a concentration in voice at Appalachian State University and received a master’s degree at Northern Arizona University. Currently, he teaches music at Bruce Drysdale Elementary School in Hendersonville. Accompanying Cagle will be the following musicians: Cody Beard is a professional trumpet educator and performer native to upstate South Carolina. He regularly performs with the Aiken Symphony Orchestra and the Spartanburg Philharmonic. Stacy Wiley, violin, received a Bachelor of Music from the University of SC. She maintains a private violin studio and plays in concerts, in local churches, colleges, and orchestras throughout the year. Carolyn Tackett is a violinist currently living in Hendersonville. Carolyn is a registered violin teacher with over 30 years of experience. Sheryl McDonald, violin, is a retired orchestra music teacher living in Rising Fawn, Ga.
