Hurricane Helene left a mark on Pearson’s Falls and Glen that few people outside the preserve fully witnessed. During this intimate guided morning hike, Andy Ruff, Director of Operations and Guardian of the Glen, will lead you through the careful restoration work that returned this irreplaceable cove forest to the path visitors know today.
Walk to the foot of the 90-foot falls, pausing at key locations to hear firsthand what was lost, what was saved, and how each repair was shaped by the goal of protecting the preserve’s fragile and rare ecology.
Whether you are a longtime visitor returning after the storm or are discovering Pearson’s Glen for the first time, this hike offers a deeper understanding of both the landscape and the dedication required to preserve it.
