Summer Bird walk at FENCE

August 9, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am

Join international bird guide Aaron Steed on Thursday, August 9th at 8am for a walk through the woodlands around FENCE and search for a variety of warblers, tanagers, sparrows and more.Though August is a summer month, it is the start of the fall migration for many of our local birds. Many of our summer bird residents are still around at this time of year (and perhaps still singing), and while certain species such as Barn Swallow and Purple Martin have largely gone, the first of many southbound songbird migrants are just beginning to trickle through. This event is free and open to the public. Birders of all expertise are welcome! Remember to wear comfortable shoes, a water bottle, and binoculars if you have them.

This event is made possible by the Kirby Endowment at the Polk County Community Foundation.
