Tales of Tryon

Speaker Andy Haynes shares the remarkable legacy of his great-grandmother, Emma Payne Erskine. A writer, painter, civic leader, and cultural force, Erskine helped shape Tryon’s identity as a center of art, literature and community life. Discover how her influence and that of of the many women she inspired continues to echo through the town’s history.

Doors open at 4pm, program begins at 5pm, and admission is free.
